Rashida Jones Leaves Pixar Due To The Practice Of Gender And Race Inequality

American actress Rashida Jones is popularly known to have portrayed the role of ‘Ann Perkins’ in the comedy series Parks and Recreation. The actress has also starred in movies such as I Love You, Man and Celeste and Jesse Forever. Earlier the actress was working for the upcoming Pixar movie ‘Toy Story 4’.

Now, the news is that the actress has quit the project. It is rumoured that she quit the project over unwanted advances offered by John Lassester. However, the actress has denied this reason and stated that the real reason behind her quitting the project is the practice of gender and race inequality at Pixar. She was quoted as saying, “We did not leave Pixar because of unwanted advance. That is untrue. We parted ways because of creative and more importantly philosophical differences. There is so much talent at Pixar and we remain enormous fans of their films”.

Due to the allegations, John Lassester has taken a six-month sabbatical from Pixar. He was quoted as saying, “I have always wanted our animation studios to be places where creators can explore their vision with the support and collaboration of other gifted animators and storytellers”. He further added, “I've recently had a number of difficult conversations that have been very painful for me. It's never easy to face your missteps, but it's the only way to learn from them”.
