Ready Player One Release Postponed

The Steven Spielberg directorial Ready Player One has been pushed back three months. The release date has now been stated as March 30, 2018. Initially the film was supposed to hit the screens on December 15, 2017. This date was assigned to Star Wars: Episode VIII which will be directed by Rian Johnson.

Ready Player One tells the story of a teenager named Wade Watts who becomes part of a globally networked virtual utopia. The mechanism that allows him to travel to this virtual world is called OASIS. The creator of OASIS decides to put the users through an elaborate treasure hunt, with the prize being his own vast fortune.

The cast for Ready Player One will include Olivia Cooke and Ben Mendelsohn. The movie is based on the novel by Ernest Cline. Donald De Line, Dan Farah and Kristie Macosko Krieger, along with Spielberg will produce the film.
