Once again the hit pair of actor-director of Oscar-winning Walk the Line will be back with a new project, the adaptation of Three Little Words, a memoir by Ashley Rhodes-Courter. The Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon of Walk the Line will star in the film, to be directed by the same acclaimed director James Mangold.

Talks are also on to sign up Les Miserables star Amanda Seyfried for the film but nothing has been confirmed yet. The film will be co-produced by the director and his partner Cathy Konrad under the banner of Tree Line Films. Along with several other renowned producers on the board, the project will be sponsored by a New York-based private equity firm, Red Crown's Dover Shores Capital. The story of Three Little Words is based on a young Florida girl who entered the child welfare system when she was four.

The relationship between the girl and the unpaid volunteer, to be played by Witherspoon, will be explored throughout the story. The volunteer who has discovered the girl after nine long years needs to persuade her biological mother to give up her parental rights and let the girl embark on a new life. The producers are aiming to start the project this September in Florida. Meanwhile Mangold is busy with The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman, slated to release on July 26. Witherspoon is also engaged in negotiations for another project opposite Keanu Reeves in Passengers.
