    The sequel to the hit 2014 film Ride Along has secured the top spot at the box office this weekend with $39.5 million. It was a successful opening for the Ice Cube and Kevin Hart starrer. Ride Along 2 has pooled in $42 million worldwide, developed with a budget of $40 million.

    The Revenant came in at a close second with its $35 million, running on its fourth weekend. The Leonardo DiCaprio starrer won several awards at the 2016 Golden Globes including Best Actor and Director. Star Wars: The Force Awakens claimed the third spot with $31 million, marking its fifth successful weekend. The movie has already become the third highest grossing film of all time.

    Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi saw an opening of $19 million. 13 Hours stars James Badge Dale, John Krasinski, Max Martini, Pablo Schreiber and Toby Stephens. Running on its fourth weekend, Daddy’s Home has raked in $11 million, making it to the top five list.
