Director Ridley Scott has apparently started working towards a sequel to his recently released Alien sequel, ‘Alien: Covenant’, that hit theatres today, in some parts of the world. The director revealed that he has already started working on the story and that he plans on starting the shoot within the next 14 months. “We're writing (a sequel) now, as we speak. I'll be filming that within 14 months”, Scott stated.

The sci-fi horror franchise started back in 1979 with ‘Alien’ which was directed by Scott himself. The second installment titled ‘Aliens’ was directed by James Cameron and was released in 1986. ‘Alien 3’ was helmed by David Fincher and the movie hit theatres in 1992. In 1997, the fourth installment titled ‘Alien: Resurrection’ was released and was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

The franchise then branched out into prequels, the first of which was ‘Prometheus’ which was released in 2012 and brought back Ridley Scott as the director. ‘Prometheus’ is followed by the recently released ‘Alien: Covenant’. The flick stars Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, and Noomi Rapace.
