Robert De Niro in Midnight Run sequel?

London -- A sequel to 1988 comedy thriller Midnight Run is in the offing and veteran actor-director Robert De Niro is hoping to star in it. In the original film, the 68-year-old portrayed the character of a bounty hunter attempting to capture a mob accountant. Now, the actor is keen to film a sequel to the cult classic, reported Daily Star. "Somebody approached me, a young writer and he said, 'I'm writing a sequel if you want to (read it)'. And I said, 'Sure! Fine.' So it's been going through these kind of changes... And so that's where we are and the script is being re-worked again. But I hope to do it. It was a lot of fun to do," De Niro said. Martin Brest directed and produced Midnight Run.
