Robert Downey Jr. seems to have sparked some hope in the hearts of the fans who wanted to see him return as Iron Man in another film, which would have been the fourth one. At ABS’s Nightline, the actor stated, “I feel like I could do one more”. Earlier in March, the actor told USA Today that there was no plan for another Iron Man movie. Does that mean there might still be a possibility for a fourth film?

The first Iron Man came out in 2008 and was very well received. It was directed by Jon Favreau who also helmed the second part which was released in 2010. The third part however, did not bring back Jon to the director’s chair. The movie was directed by Shane Black and earned around $1.2 billion worldwide.

The highly successful franchise has established Robert as Iron Man, just like Wolverine did for Hugh Jackman. The Avengers actor will next be seen in the upcoming Marvel Phase Three film 'Captain America: Civil War' which will hit the screens on May 6. Robert will reprise his role as Iron Man and will lock horns with Captain America.
