Russell Brand to host 2012 MTV Movie Awards next month

British comedian Russell Brand has signed on to host the 2012 MTV MovieAwards next month. "This MTV Movie Awards will be more impressive than The Avengers and you won'thave to wait an hour for someone to Hulk out," said the 36-year-old funnyman, who has hosted MTV'svideo and music awards in the past. The show executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, thinks Brand is theperfect host for the upcoming show, reported MTV online. "First of all, I think Russell's the perfect hostfor this show," said Ignjatovic. "He's a movie star. He's probably one of the most brilliant stand-ups thatI've seen in his time, and he's a rock star," Ignjatovic added. The fan-voted awards, which celebrate theyear's biggest films, will be presented on June 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatres in California.
