Ryan Gosling Finds Blade Runner 2049 Bleaker Than Original

The original Blade Runner released in 1985 under the direction of Ridley Scott. The flick showed a dystopian Los Angeles in which genetically engineered replicants, which are visually indistinguishable from adult humans, are manufactured by the powerful Tyrell Corporation. After a gap of 35 years, director Denis Villeneuve is back with its sequel.

In the sequel, Blade Runner 2049, actor Ryan Gosling is playing the lead role. In a recent interview, the actor said that the sequel is more bleak than original. He said, "It's a continuation of the story, so if you're a fan of the original film, it takes the original story and sort of follows that through. It's the same iconic universe, but it's changed over the course of the 30-year gap. It's a lot bleaker in some ways. The director (Denis Villeneuve) describes it as toxic. But it's still the Blade Runner universe".

In the flick, Harrison Ford will be reprising one of his signature roles as the world-weary cop Rick Deckard. Helmed by Denis Villeneuve, the flick is being written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green.  The film is set for release in the United States on October 6, 2017, in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.
