    Ryan Gosling is in talks to star in the sequel to Blade Runner, reported by TheWrap. The 34-year-old actor will join the cast, which also includes Harrison Ford. The Star Wars actor will play the character of Rick Deckard, the role he portrayed in the original film.

    The movie will be produced by Alcon Entertainment along with Ridley Scott, who also directed the original. The flick is going to be helmed by Incendies and Prisoners director, Denis Villeneuve. Hampton Fancher and Michael Green have written the script for the film. The script was developed on the idea provided by Hampton Fancher and Ridley Scott.

    The filmmakers have not yet revealed the details about the character Gosling will portray. The producers also remain tight-lipped about the plot of the sequel. Although, no release date has been announced yet, filming for the movie will begin in 2016. Ryan Gosling, who is currently busy with the shooting of The Big Short, will also be seen in The Nice Guys and Weightless later this year.
