Sam Taylor-Johnson Talks About Her Problem With Alcoholism

Filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson has disclosed her problem of alcoholism when she was married to art dealer Jay Jopling. She revealed that she used to drink excessively at the time of her marriage with Jopling, whom she divorced in 2008. The 50-year-old director tied the knot with 26-year-old actor Aaron Taylor Johnson in 2012.

Talking about her problem, Sam said, "I would drink to blackout most nights. I thought it was because I was a cool British artist, but actually I was quite a mess. I would say I was an alcoholic. I put myself in supremely dangerous situations”.

The director followed a healthy lifestyle after battling colon cancer, followed by breast cancer. Well, when asked about the age gap between the couple, Taylor said that it did matter to her initially but after a certain point of time everything was fine. “He is an amazing man. If you saw us together, we're in such sync. We spend every minute of the day together,” said Sam about Aaron. Sam has two daughters with Aaron, Wylda Rae, born in 2010, and Romy Hero, born in 2012, and two daughters from her earlier marriage.
