Warner Bros. is developing an animated Scooby-Doo film to be released on the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy-nominated animation veteran Tony Cervone will be directing the film. Scooby-Doo was one of the best cartoons in the golden era of cartoon network created by Hanna-Barbera.

The president of creative development and worldwide production at Warner Bros., Greg Silverman stated, “Like countless fans, I have always loved the Hanna-Barbera cast of characters. As one of their most famous brand ambassadors, Scooby-Doo will take the lead in re-introducing this pantheon of enduringly popular animated stars on a grand scale with an exciting new movie”. Previously two live action movies - Scooby-Doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004) - have been made based on the cartoon.

The movie will be produced by Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, who also produced the previous films. Tony Cervone’s wife Allison Abbate, who has a lot of experience in the animation field, will also be producing. The film is scheduled to release on September 21, 2018.
