Singer Adele to turn lead actress in Dusty Springfield’s biopic?

Reports are doing rounds that the Academy Award winning singer Adele will star as legendary musician Dusty Springfield in a biopic which is based on the late singer’s life. A source close to Adele informed that the singer is attached to a film project, though it is in a very initial stage of negotiations.

On the other hand industry insiders said that this project has been queued up for several years now. According to them both singer Duffy and actress Nicole Kidman have been said to be in the consideration for the role. As per the sources, the project will focus on late 1960s’ life of Springfield when she shifted to Memphis to collaborate with Atlantic records’ producers. It’s highly speculated that Adele, who confessed to be a huge fan of the I Only Want To Be With You star, has been considered for the role as she resembles the late singer a lot. The movie is set to be directed by Nick Hurran with Boardwalk Empire screenwriter David Stenn on the board.
