Sofia Boutella Eyed For The Mummy

Following the rumours that this time around, The Mummy reboot would have a female Mummy, Sofia Boutella is in talks for the titular role. It was also reported last month that Tom Cruise will be starring in the film as well. Sofia is known for her role in the film Kingsman: The Secret Service where she played Gazelle.

The movie will be a modern take on the legendary monster. Jon Spaihts will be writing the script for the film which will be directed by Alex Kurtzman. The creature was brought to life in Karl Freund’s 1932 feature where the character was played by Boris Karloff.

Sofia will also feature in the next instalment in the Star Trek franchise next year. It would be a pleasant change to see a female Mummy for the first time, granted she can pull it off. The Mummy reboot will be released March 24, 2017.
