Sofia Vergara fighting to protect her eggs

Sofia Vergara who remained tight lipped over her ongoing legal battle with ex- beau Nick Loeb, has finally broken her silence. The legal battle is over frozen embryos they conceived while they were dating. The 42-year-old actress is refusing to hand over custody of the embryos to her ex-boyfriend.

The Modern Family star said that she is ‘doing the right thing’ in refusing to sing over custody of the embryos. "Can you blame me?", Vergara said, on the Howard Stern Show about her decision not to allow the embryos to be implanted in a surrogate mother. The actress broke up with Loeb last year.

"A woman is entitled to bring a pregnancy to term even if the man objects. Shouldn't a man who is willing to take on all parental responsibilities be similarly entitled to bring his embryos to term even if the woman objects? These are issues that, unlike abortion, have nothing to do with the rights over one's own body, and everything to do with a parent's right to protect the life of his or her unborn child", Loeb voiced his opinion in an article published in The New York Times.
