    Sony hires Jay Basu for Metal Gear Solid movie


    Sony Pictures has hired a not so famous screenwriter Jay Basu to pen down its upcoming movie adaptation of ‘Metal Gear Solid.’ The Movie will be produced by Marvel’s producer Ari Arad while ‘The Kings of Summer’ director Jordan Vogt-Roberts will helm the project.

    The game ‘Metal Gear Solid’ which was launched in 1998 by Playstation, follows the mission of Solid Snake, a soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to reduce the effect of terrorist threat from Foxhound, a renegade special forces unit. He also has to keep hostages out of harms way. Jay Basu, who co-wrote ‘Monsters: Dark Continent’ for Vertigo Films (currently in post-production) was recently signed by Universal Pictures to help reboot its classic monster movie catalogue. But there is no word on a premiere date as yet
