Sorry Fans, Chris Evans May Not Play Captain America After Avengers 4
Friends, hold your breath. When Avengers: Age of Ultron hits the theatre later this month, this will be the last time that you will get to see your favourite Chris Evans as Captain America in the movie. Shocking know! The actor on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ announced that he might retire from playing the star-spangled superhero.
Rumours were doing the rounds that after the end of his Marvel contract, the actor will permanently leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “My contract is up… that (Avengers) is the end of my contract,” said the 35-year-old actor when Ellen (the show’s host) asked him about his retirement from the Avengers films. Evans had a six picture deal with Marvel.
His contract with Marvel movies will end with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 (untitled). While the playing it cool actor did not divulged any details about his character in the movie but it has been heard through grapevine that Evans’ character (Steve Rogers) would be killed and Bucky Barnes, who plays his friend in the series, would inherit the star-spangled mantle. Infinity War and the untitled Avengers 4 will be at the helm of affairs of Joe and Anthony Russo who also directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.
