Spider-Man: Homecoming Cast Adds Donald Glover

Spider-Man: Homecoming Cast Adds Donald Glover

Donald Glover is the latest actor to add on for Marvel’s next instalment of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The actor joins Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey, Jr. and Zendaya. The details of Glover's character haven't been revealed yet.

Glover was actually a fan favourite to be picked to play Spider-Man in Sony's 2012 reboot of the franchise, a role that eventually went to Andrew Garfield. The next project from Glover, who was great as a quirky astronomer in The Martian, is the FX series Atlanta, for which he released a couple of vague trailers that look just interesting enough.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is a co-production between Sony and Marvel directed by Jon Watts. Tom Holland will play the wall crawler, as seen in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War earlier this year. Marisa Tomei will play Aunt May and Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Iron Man. Disney Channel star Zendaya and Michael Keaton have also been linked to the production. The film is currently scheduled to hit theatres on July 7, 2017.
