Spike Lee likely to direct Neil Bogart biopic

Filmmaker-producer-writer-actor Spike Lee is in talks to go behind the camera for Neil Bogart biopic, Spinning Gold. The script of the flick is penned by Timothy Scott Bogart, son of Neil Bogart. He is also co-producing it along with Laurence Mark, Gary A. Randall, Timberlake and Mark Damon.

The story of the movie will revolve around a poor kid from Brooklyn; Bogart, who went on to become a sensation in pop-music. He died in 1982 at the age of 39. It is also being said that he was the man behind launching the generation of superstars; Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, Gladys Knight, Parliament, Donna Summer and The Village People.
