    ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, the seventh instalment of the hit franchise ‘Star Wars’, hit the screens yesterday. The movie has great response all over the world and is creating records at the box office. The epic space opera is doing great business especially in North America.

    According to reports, J. J. Abrams directorial grossed $120 million-$125 million on its opening day. It bettered the record of ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows II’, which cashed s $91.1 million on day 1. The movie has got a brilliant opening and many believe that the film will shatter many records by Sunday.

    Reports suggest that the film will have a record weekend opening in North America. The estimate for the first weekend is $215 million and if the film manages to collect that much amount then it will break the record of ‘Jurassic World’, which is $208.8 million. Currently, the total worldwide collection of the movie stands at $157 million.
