Star Wars Royalty Carrie Fisher Becomes An Epitome of Hope At Women's March

Actress Carrie Fisher's demise is very disheartening for the country. Recently, at the Women's March in Washington DC, Carrie’s character as Princess Leia in 'Star Wars' emerged as the symbol of feminism, equality and hope. The legend’s memory was kindled at the anti-Trump protest a day after his opening ceremony as the 45th US president, when fans and followers held the posters and placards of Princess Leia's visage.

Many people echoed in the streets with messages like 'We are the resistance,' 'Carrie Fisher sent me,' and 'Estrogen Strikes Back.' Many were also spotted donning the Leia avatar as they raised their voice against President Trump. Fisher passed away at the age of 60 in December last year after she suffered a heart attack.

Mark Hamill, Fisher's co-star from 'Star Wars' took to his twitter account to post photographs from the march. The post read, "I know where she stood. You know where she stood. Such an honour to see her standing with you today. Bigly." However, Fisher's death is a great loss for the country.
