The popular 'Step Up' films are reportedly being made into a web series for YouTube. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum, who starred in the first flick of the franchise, have been roped in as executive producers for this project. The producers of the original movie, Adam Shankman, Meredith Milton and Jennifer Gibgot are also on board as executive producers.

Susanne Daniels, who is the content chief of this venture, said that she was interested in the project from long ago. She added that for years she has been talking to Lionsgate about it. “I just kept calling and calling and finally, when they were ready to take it out, I was here”, she said.

She further stated, “I've been a fan of the 'Step Up' movies for years and always believed the films would translate into an awesome original series. We know that dance is a hugely successful global category on YouTube, so I'm excited to have a series rooted in such an enormously popular genre on our platform”.  Meanwhile the news has made all the ‘Step Up’ fans excited and they are now eagerly waiting for the series, which is slated to debut in 2017.
