The yellow carpet rolled out and the Universal City Walk and it saw a gathering of nonsense-speaking minions which were the center of attraction at the Los Angeles premiere of Despicable Me 2. Even one of the minions couldn’t stop dancing behind their star Steve Carell.

Carell said with remorse, “They are always upstaging me.” And when asked if the popularity of his mischievous co-stars worry him, he said in a light-hearted manner, “No, because if I am going to be upstaged by someone, I am glad it’s them.” In the upcoming Part 2 of Despicable Me, Carell will be revisiting his role as Gru, who is a super villain turned super dad. He is now on the pursuit of love which gets inspired by his three adoptive daughters. He also supported the idea of the sequel, "I loved the first one so much and I loved the idea that it wasn’t condescending towards kids and this one follows suit.”

Coming December, Carell will feature in another sequel too, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, where he’ll reprise his character of Brick Tamland. He told THR about the sequel to Anchorman, “You can expect more of the same and just as much ‘Brickedness,’” While the dancing minion behind Carell grabbed all the attention, the star talked about what to expect from Despicable Me 2, “It’s fun. It’s has got a big heart and there are more minions than you have ever thought possible.” Despicable Me 2 also stars Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Benjamin Bratt and Moises Arias and it will hit the theatres on July 3.
