Steve Jobs biopic to hit cinemas this October

Universal Pictures announced that ‘Steve Jobs’ will be released in theatres on October 9, 2015. Danny Boyle, who won an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire, helms the film. A previous biopic on Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad was released in 2013, which earned mixed reviews from critics.

According to sources, Michael Fassbender will play Jobs, the pioneering founder of Apple, with the Academy Award-winning Kate Winslet starring as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley. Steve Jobs was originally tipped to open next year when Universal Pictures picked up the project after it was dropped by Sony. The other films scheduled for that date are The Finest Hours, Kidnap and Vacation.
