Straight Outta Compton Still On Top

    F. Gary Gray’s directorial Straight Outta Compton has yet again claimed the top spot at the domestic box office. With an opening weekend of around $60 million, the American biographical drama has bested the new releases Hitman: Agent 47 and Sinister 2. The flick grossed $26.8 million on its second weekend.

Following Straight Outta Compton was the fifth instalment in the Mission Impossible series which made $11 million on its fourth weekend. The low budget horror sequel Sinister 2 which made $10.6 million on its opening weekend nabbed the third spot. This is a step down from what the first part made - $18 million. But, the movie was made under a budget of $10 million so Feature Focus need not be worried. Meanwhile, Hitman: Agent 47 which cost around $35 million to develop, had a very slow start with just $8.2 million and secured the fourth spot.

Straight Outta Compton has made $111 million worldwide and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation has grossed $157 million. Warner Bros. Studio’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. slithered its way to the top five with its $7.4 million. This was the movies second weekend.
