Distributor STX is considering legal action over Mexican producer Gaston Pavlovich’s pending deal with Netflix for The Irishman flick. STX bought all non-U.S. distribution rights for this movie last year, for whopping $50-million deal during the Cannes Film Festival. This Martin Scorsese movie is ninth collaboration with Robert De Niro, where he plays the titular role.

At present, STX is in dark as Pavlovich and his Fabrica de Cine Outfit tried to rather go ahead to a worldwide deal with Netflix. Moreover, The Irishman production budget is quickly rising to $125 million from its original estimate cost of $100 million.

On reaching out to STX, the spokesman stated, “As a policy, STX does not comment on rumors or matters related to litigation”. STX is also under the pressure from international distributors to whom they sold the rights as well. Pavlovich also set aside the rumours that he is not part of the movie and stated that he is final negotiations with Netflix.
