    Successful Release for Terminator Genysis in China

    Terminator Genysis is the first major Hollywood title to hit theatres in China after two months. With its success, the blackout period for Chinese cinema has finally ended. The movie grossed $27 million from 69,000 screenings on August 23.

    Over a period of two days the movie made $37 million in China. In the weekend box office listings, Terminator Genysis came in second after Go Away, Mr Tumor which made $67.9 million in 11 days. The movie stars Hong Kong American actor Daniel Wu. The Chinese remake of Bride Wars grossed $24.2 million in four days claiming the third spot on the list.

    The fourth spot was taken by Monster Hunt which has made $375 million since its release 39 days ago. Terminator Genysis has now racked in $352 million worldwide of which $263 million is from off shore earnings. It is directed by Alan Taylor and written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier.
