Taylor Swift to act in Phillip Noyce’s The Giver

Singer-actor Taylor Swift will now be devoting less time to music and music concerts as the 23-year-old has been roped in for Phillip Noyce’s The Giver. The actress looked excited and felt fortunate to play the role and told that it is was something unusual. The offer came after she performed in Los Angeles in a show.

Taylor commented, "Actually, the movie came about very unexpectedly. When I played my shows in Los Angeles, I was unaware that people from this movie were in the audience, and I had a role offered to me the next week." She later added, "I think my show tends to be very emotional and moody and they saw something that they needed in the role. So, I`m very honoured and lucky to get to be a part of it, and we`ll see how it goes."

The starlet made her acting debut with Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience, in which she performed a cameo. Valentine's Day (2010) was her first flick where she carried out a full-fledged role. The Giver is a sci-fi flick written by Michael Mitnick. The movie stars Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgård, Meryl Streep and Odeya Rush besides Taylor. The movie is an adaptation of 1993 novel written by Lois Lowry with the same title.
