Los Angeles, Feb. 26 -- Worldwide singing sensation Taylor Swift made a donation 50 thousand dollars to New York’s public schools as she had pledged in last October to do so. The country singer in support and encouragement of education in the city made that prized donation.

After having been made the Global Welcome Ambassador of the New York City, the Love Story star shared earnings from her single ‘Welcome to New York.’ Taylor had earlier announced that the big sales of the single will be donated to the public education as she believed would make good use. Thanking her gesture of donation, Devora Kaye, a spokeswoman for the Department of Education said “We’re deeply appreciative of this kind gesture to donate her proceeds of the single ‘Welcome to New York’ to benefit NYC public schools.”
