Terminator Followup Out, Baywatch In

May 19, 2017 was previously assigned to the release of the sequel to Terminator Genisys. Now, it has been reported that Paramount Pictures will be releasing the Baywatch film on that date. The plans for sequel’s in the Terminator franchise have been removed from the studio’s schedule.

Baywatch will star Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera. When the plans for a big screen adaptation of the TV series were finalised back in 2013, Dwayne posted, “This is my beach b*tch!. Rumors are true… we’re making #BAYWATCH the movie. Edgy, raunchy and hopefully, funny as all hell. Cue slo mo running on the beach… #WhoNeedsMouthToMouth #RedShortsBeHugginABrotha”.

Seth Gordon is directing the film. Dwayne, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Beau Flynn, Dany Garcia, Ivan Reitman and Douglas Schwartz will serve as producers. This news certainly comes as a disappointment for the Terminator franchise fans as the future of the film is now unclear.
