Mission Impossible actress Thandie Newton recently opened up about a traumatic sexual abuse experience that she had to face during her early years. The actress revealed that a director had asked her to perform arousing activities while he recorded her. Thandie hopes to make other struggling actresses aware and careful about such situations.

In an interview with W Magazine, the Crash actress revealed, “…a director, on a callback, had a camera shooting up my skirt and asked me to touch my (breasts) and think about the guy making love to me in the scene”. She added that she did the shot because there was a female casting director in the room. The British actress also recalled an earlier incident that brought back those bad memories for her.

A few years after the incident, Thandie came across a producer at Cannes who, in his drunken state, told her that he had “seen her”. This is when she found out that the director who recorded her years ago was showing that audition tape to other people at his house. The 43-year-old actress gave this statement to safeguard other up and coming actresses who are trying to establish themselves in the industry.
