    The Boss Baby Tops Beauty and the Beast At Weekend Box Office

    The animated flick ‘The Boss Baby’ topped the box office on its opening weekend with $49 million, just surpassing ‘Beauty and the Beast’s $47 million. ‘The Boss Baby’ has voices from Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi and Lisa Kudrow, and has been directed by Tom McGrath. Worldwide, the movie has pooled in $108 million.

    Reigning at the box office for several weeks, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens dropped a spot at the weekend box office top five list. The movie has now reached $876 million worldwide which is a huge achievement for the team who developed the project on a budget of $160 million. Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Ghost in the Shell’ saw a rather slow opening weekend, bringing in $59 million worldwide. Directed by Rupert Sanders, the movie has been adapted from the manga which was first developed in 1989. It will hit Indian screens on April 7.

    Dean Israelite’s ‘Power Rangers’ came in fourth at the weekend box office and brought in $14 million. Running on its second week, the movie has earned $97 million worldwide. Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson starrer ‘Kong: Skull Island’ brought in another $8.8 million coming in last. The movie has now grossed $477 million worldwide.
