    The youngster, who killed at least 12 people while they were watching midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises at Colorado, US, has been charged with 24 counts of murder. According to the police, In all 142 charges including 24 counts of first-degree murder, two for each of the 12 people who were killed, have been imposed on James Holmes. One of each pair of murder counts is for acting with deliberation and intent, the other for displaying an extreme indifference to the value of human life. Holmes is also charged with 116 counts of attempted murder, one count of using a deadly weapon in commission of a violent crime and one count of possession of explosive devices, the police added. According to US law, a charge of first-degree murder carries a minimum penalty of life in prison and a maximum of death.
