    The first Batman Adam West passed away on June 9, 2017 after a short battle with leukaemia. The veteran actor died at the age of 88. The actor is widely known for portraying the role of Dark Knight for the first time on the screen.

    The 1960s Television series Batman star was remembered by his friends, acquaintances and followers. The late actor’s ‘Batman’ co-star Burt Ward was quoted as saying, "I am devastated at the loss of one my very dearest friends. We shared some of the most fun times of our lives together. This is a terribly unexpected loss of my lifelong friend". The 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' star Ben Affleck made a post with his Twitter handle which read, "Adam West exemplified heroism. Kind, funny and an all around great guy. Thank you for showing us all how it's done. @therealadamwest".

    The ‘Star Wars’ actor Mark Hamill, who gave his voice to The Joker in ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ also exhibited his grief on Twitter. It is widely said that Adam West was out of work after the Caped Crusader series was stopped, the actor bounced back with voiceover gigs. The actor is survived by his wife Marcelle, six children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
