    Spectre Breaks U.K. Debut Records

    Released in the U.K. on October 26, Spectre has seen the biggest debut with $80 million. The Bond flick has surpassed the previous record set by Harry Potter – Prisoners of Azkaban. Spectre is the 24th instalment in the Bond franchise and has set a new record for biggest opening week in the U.K.

    Spectre grossed $67.7 million from the SPRI territories out of the six territories it was released in. The movie is the fourth Bond film that stars Daniel Craig in the iconic role. It was also successful in surpassing the last Bond film Skyfall. The producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli stated, “We’re so grateful to all our James Bond fans and the British public for making ‘SPECTRE’s’ debut in the UK box office history!”

    The Chairman and CEO of MGM Peter Taylor said, “What an incredible thrill it is for us at MGM to see how James Bond continues to deliver such excitement to his fans. This record-breaking support from UK audiences for what is our 24th outing is nothing short of amazing. We can’t wait for the rest of the world to see ‘SPECTRE’”
