Tom Cruise’s ‘The Mummy’ is all set to hit the theatres tomorrow on June 9. Actor Jake Johnson, who plays Cruise’s friend in the film, was unwilling to give a nod for the role. However he later signed the film for his wife as she was eager to learn more about Tom Cruise.

Johnson said that he knew Tom does his stunts himself and he was afraid of putting himself in risk. The 39-year-old actor said, "I remember saying to my wife 'I have a chance to play Tom Cruise's friend in 'The Mummy' but I don't know if I want to do it, because there were a lot of stunts and I know that Tom does them himself and I didn't want to die on the side of an airplane for a movie".

He further added, "And my wife said 'I have never said this before but I really want you to do it because I really want to hear more about Tom Cruise. There is no PR team telling me to say this but he is genuinely just a sweet, passionate, awesome guy".

On a related note, Jake plays Sergeant Chris Vail. Helmed by Alex Kurtzman, It is a reboot of ‘The Mummy’ franchise and the first installment in the Dark Universe film series.
