Tom Cruise celebrates not a very happy birthday

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise may not be very happy on his 50th Birthday, which falls on July 3, as the actors third wife and mother of his first biological child Suri, Katie Holmes, had filed for divorce from him last week. Irrespective of the troubles at his personal front, the Top Gun star is doing very good on the professional front as the actor saw two releases -- Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and Rock of Ages at the box office, while the former was a super hit, the latter received a lukewarm response from audiences. The stars hands are also full of future assignments like sci-fi thriller Oblivion and action film Jack Reacher. In the meantime Katie was spotted without her wedding ring in New York City, where she is residing after filing the divorce. According to a Mirror report, Katies father is very involved in the divorce proceedings and working closely with Katies lawyer. Her father has been her rock in the last several months and she just doesnt know where she would be without him, the source said. According to close sources, the pair had endured a series of explosive rows before their split as Tom was not happy with the way Suri was being raised by Katie. According to sources, Cruise was angry that Suri had been allowed to wear make up at such a young age. It is also being speculated the central reason of their breakup is Katies fear that Suri will be forced to follow the Church of Scientology by her father, who is a key member of the religious institution.
