Hollywood legend Tom Hanks has expressed his desire of starring in a James Bond movie. However, the actor has said that he has never been approached for the role. As per reports, the actor has said that if he is approached he would love to play the role of a villain.

"That would be a treat. No one has asked me to be in any of those. I might have to hold out to play the guy who says 'Before I kill you, Mr. Bond, perhaps you would like a tour of my installation?'" Hanks said.

The 61-year-old was recently seen in Steven Spielberg's journalism drama ‘The Post’ along with Hollywood veteran Meryl Streep. This is the fifth time that Hanks collaborated with Steven Spielberg after Saving Private Ryan (1998), Catch Me If You Can (2002), The Terminal (2004) and Bridge of Spies (2015). Though Hanks thought that film will be about defending the First Amendment, however it turned out to be a political thriller.

He said, "It's ('The Post') a suspense thriller where there's an awful lot at stake, and it's a piece of history that still comments on the present day. I thought I'd signed on to make a movie about defending the First Amendment, but it turned out we also walked into gender politics, harassment, and a chief executive (the president) who is hell-bent on obfuscating facts."
