Tom Hardy Joining ‘Aladdin’ Cast?

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword director Guy Ritchie is working on a live action remake of the classic cartoon 'Aladdin'. According to media reports, the director is eyeing The Revenant actor Tom Hardy for the role of Jafar in the remake. The director reached out to Tom for the role but whether or not the actor will give his nod is currently unknown.

According to a source, “Guy is a huge fan of Tom's work and securing him would be a major coup. There have been conversations and, although nothing is set in stone and things are subject to change, he's certainly one of Guy's favoured choices”. Another source has stated that whether the actor will take the role or not, depends on his schedule.

Some more information on the project has come to light, stating that Jade Thirlwall is being approached for the role of Princess Jasmine. Jade is a member of the British girl group called Little Mix who were the first and so far, the only group, to win the UK version of The X Factor. The shooting for the ‘Aladdin’ remake will commence in Britain.
