Tomb Raider Movie Ropes In Walton Goggins To Play The Antagonist

By now it is well known that Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander will be playing Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider movie. Now, Variety has reported that The Hateful Eight actor Walton Goggins has been roped in to play the villain. The movie will be directed by Roar Uthaug.

The franchise has been based on the video game series first published by Eidos in 1996. This won’t be the first cinematic adaptation of the game as there have been two previous films with Angelina Jolie playing Croft. The movies were titled ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’ and ‘Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life’.

Walton was last seen in the Quentin Tarantino directorial ‘The Hateful Eight’. The movie came out in December last year. The actor is also known for his role in the TV series ‘Vice Principals’ which is currently gearing up for its second season. On the other hand, Alicia was last seen in ‘The Light Between Oceans’ which was a romantic drama.
