With around 50,000 people expected to come to the city today for Canadian popstar Justin Bieber’s show at DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai, the police have planned a few traffic diversions.

Vehicles coming from Thane towards Belapur via Thane-Belapur road can’t take a right turn under the LP bridge to go to Nerul. You will have to go straight to Uran Phata bridge and then take a U-turn to enter Nerul.

Vehicles coming from Belapur towards Thane via this road, too, will not be allowed to go to MIDC areas from under the LP bridge. The vehicles will have go straight up to Turbhe bridge and then take a right turn to enter MIDC area.

There will be no-entry on both sides of the service road between LP junction and DY Patil stadium. As an alternative, vehicles can take the LP junction-Uran Phata road.

Service roads towards MIDC from LP junction will also be declared as no-entry points. The vehicles can take the Uran Phata-LP junction road as an alternative. The entire area around the stadium will be a no-parking zone.

Nitin Pawar, deputy commissioner of police (traffic), said, “Ambulance and fire brigade vehicles can take the roads. Three grounds have been booked for parking vehicles . All three grounds – Bamandev, Ganpat Tandel and Raheja – are within a 5km radius of the stadium. There will be buses to carry people who park their vehicles at the first two grounds. People who park vehicles at Raheja can walk as it is barely 1km away from the stadium.”
