Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has opened up strong throughout the world. As per the statistics, the movie has grossed $11.8 million by 9.00 p.m. today. The flick was released uncensored in China, unlike Russia and Malaysia, with a brief homosexual allusion, described by director Bill Condon, as a ‘gay moment’. In Malaysia, flick was not released after the studio refused to make the cut.

The People’s Daily via its Twitter account posted, “Controversial gay moment kept in Disney’s #BeautyAndTheBeast. Movie premiered on Mar 17 in China, requires no guidance for minor audience”. Interestingly, the contrast was different from its recent decision to make cut of 7 minutes from Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Moreover, Logan lost seven minutes due to censoring. The country has no rating system and films are usually supposed to be open to audience of all ages. They cut by the censors for sexual, political or religious references.
