Singer Celine Dion lost her husband Rene Angelil in January this year. While it was extremely hard for her to cope, it was even harder to explain the death to her children. Their eldest son, Rene-Charles, turned 15 less than two weeks after the death of his father. The singer had to council their children, especially their 5-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson.

Celine recently opened up about the experience and shared that she read a few books to know how to deal with children in such a situation. “I asked for some books for children to help me to guide them through this. And (the books) kind of, like, shook me up so much. It was not my way of wanting to talk to my children”. She then stumbled upon the 2009 animated flick ‘Up’, which helped her a lot more than the books.

“Up' saved my life”, said the 48-year-old singer adding, “I said (to the kids), 'What is the movie that Ellie died in?' And they said, 'Ellie died in the movie Up, Mum.' I said, 'That's it. Ellie,' I said. 'Well, I want you to now listen to me.' I said, 'Papa is now with Ellie”.

Celine tied the knot with Rene in 1994. He was also her manager. The cause of his death was throat cancer.
