Why Did Elizabeth Banks Leave Pitch Perfect 3?

Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson starrer ‘Pitch Perfect’ was directed by Jason Moore while the second instalment was helmed by Elizabeth Banks. It was expected that Elizabeth will return to the director’s chair for the third part but the actress recently bowed out of the project as director. In a conference, The Hunger Games actress explained why she took that step.

“The new schedule butts up against my parental responsibilities in a way I’m not really comfortable with”, Elizabeth shared. Just like the previous parts, it is expected that she will be present in front of the camera. Talking about the shift in release date from July 2017 to December 2017, the actress stated, “We feel obligated to put out the absolute best movie… it’s really hard to figure out what the story is … we’ve been developing our asses off”.

Elizabeth will be directing Universal’s adaptation of Red Queen and a new Charlie’s Angels movie. Her on screen projects include the upcoming Power Rangers film where she plays Rita Repulsa. Rita is the archenemy of the Power Rangers.
