Women are about to take over 21 Jump Street. Sony Pictures is gearing up for a female spin off movie from its highly successful Jump Street franchise, reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The new version will see Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum being replaced by women. The cast for the female spinoff of Jump Street has not been decided as of now.

Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs have been hired by Sony to write a female-driven script to fit into the Jump Street franchise. The idea for a female reboot of the Jump Street franchise may have arrived from the female version of Ghostbusters, which will being filming soon. The female version of Ghostbusters will be helmed by Paul Fieg.

The female version will follow the same comic tone of the previous movies, although it is still unclear of how this version will be linked to the franchise. The Jump Street franchise has been a great success for Sony, with the first two films earning a combined $531 million worldwide. There is also speculation of a possible crossover of Jump Street with Men In Black (revealed in Sony email hack), which may witness Hill and Tatum stepping into the MIB universe.
