    ‘Wonder Woman’ is one of the most massive superhero movies starring Gal Gadot and directed by Patty Jenkins. And this is the reason why there is an additional pressure on the two to recreate that magic on the big screen. The upcoming film ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is a sequel to ‘Wonder Woman’ and will release in theatres in November 2019.

    The makers are gradually revealing details about the movie and therefore keeping fans guessing about what to expect. The movie is different from other superhero flicks as the director Patty Jenkins gave the first film a lighter tone and vibrant palette. So far, from what the makers have revealed about the sequel is the fact that ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ will be set in the 1980s. With the Cold War as the backdrop, Gal Gadot will reportedly come in conflict with the Soviet Union. Kristen Wiig will play the archvillain — Cheetah — and while there have been various iterations of the character. it will be interesting to see how the makers sketch this particular character and what Wiig does with it.

    Another interesting aspect of the sequel is the fact that Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell/Red Viper and Javier Peña in Narcos) is going to play an undisclosed role in it. Nothing has been revealed about his character, making fans believe he could be a surprise villain. Interestingly, most people assumed that Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor died after his aircraft exploded in midair. However, he is present in the promotional photo of the sequel.
