You Cannot Fight Ageism: Goldie Hawn

You Cannot Fight Ageism: Goldie Hawn

Goldie Hawn is a prominent name in the Hollywood industry. The 71-year-old actress made her debut with CBS situation comedy Good Morning, World. However, her role as one of the regular cast members on the 1968 to 1973 sketch comedy show, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In brought her to international attention.

The actress has now been in the industry for over five decades and is ageing gracefully. Recently, in an interview, the actress talked about ageism in Hollywood and how she is accepting it. She said, "You think you're going to fight the system? You think you're going to prove to Hollywood when you hit 45 that you're still a sexy, viable object? No. There's a certain reality. Does it make me angry? No. I'm not an angry person. I'm not a militant person”.

Hawn said that the notion that we can fight ageism is not true adding that it is unproductive of stars to fight a lost battle. She also said that once she and The First Wives Club co-stars had to take a pay cut because the studios were never confident on trusting that women carrying a movie would actually work. On the work front, the actress was last seen in American action comedy film, Snatched, which released last week.
