Z for Zachariah gets three new entries- Chris Pine, Amanda Seyfried, Chiwetel Ejiofor

With Star Trek Into Darkness knocking at the door, it looks like the movie’s leading hero Chris Pine has already bagged his next project, Z for Zachariah. The other stars who would join him for the film are Amanda Seyfried and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The project will be helmed by Craig Zobel.

Based on the post-apocalyptic science-fiction novel by Robert C. O'Brien with the same name, the story is about a girl in her teens who lives alone. She supervises a farm in such a unique valley which solely breathes fresh air in the wake of the nuclear war. But her perfect world gets disturbed when two strangers visit the valley from the forest. The film will be jointly produced by Material Pictures’ Tobey Maguire, Matthew Plouffe with executive producers Gary Ross and Lucky Hat Entertainment’s Stephen Bannatyne, Lotus Entertainment’s Jim Seibel and Bill Johnson and many others.

According to Maguire, “Everyone at Material Pictures and Zik Zak Filmworks is thrilled “Z for Zachariah”has attracted such a dynamic and talented cast,.” He said further, “With Modi’s enthralling script and the vision Zobel has for the film, we’re excited to bring such a captivating story to audiences.” The international sales for the film will be kick started at Cannes by Lotus Entertainment. The project is geared up to go on floors this August. Pine has been having handful of projects after landing with leading roles in his latest films Star Trek Into Darkness and Jack Ryan. While Star Trek Into Darkness is all set to hit the theatres this Friday, Jack Ryan will see its release on the Christmas Day.
