Zhang Ziyi Bags 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters'

The ‘Run for Love’ actress Zhang Ziyi has been roped in to join in the star cast of the upcoming movie 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters'. Zhang will soon join the film which is being helmed by Michael Dougherty. Apart from the 38-year-old star, the movie will also star Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown.

The movie is a sequel of 'Godzilla' which released in 2014. Zach Shields who scripted the first part along with Dougherty will script the second part also. The movie is set up several years after the events that occurred in the first part.

Zhang will be playing an important figure within the covert Monarch organization which was established in the first part. Not only this, the 'Memoirs of a Geisha' actress has also been approached for other parts of the franchise including 'Godzilla vs Kong' because of her key figure. The second part of the franchise will release on March 22, 2019, while the 'Godzilla vs Kong' will hit the theatres in 2020.
