Zootopia Beats The Divergent Series: Allegiant For Box Office Cake

Byron Howard and Rich Moore’s Zootopia seems to be going strong at the box office. The movie pooled in $38 million over the weekend sending its overall earnings to $591 million worldwide. Zootopia has been in theatres for three weeks.

The recently released The Divergent Series: Allegiant saw an opening weekend of $29 million at the domestic box office and $82 million worldwide. The movie has been directed by Robert Schwentke. Coming in third was Miracles from Heaven with its $15 million opening. Directed by Patricia Riggen, Miracles from Heaven stars Jennifer Garner, Martin Henderson and Queen Latifah.

Running on its second weekend, 10 Cloverfield Lane has pooled in $12.5 million sending its total to $52 million worldwide. Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool still holds a spot on the top five after six weeks on screen. The movie grossed $8 million over the weekend sending its worldwide earnings to $730 million. Directed by Tim Miller, Deadpool was created over a small budget of just $58 million.
